This is a signed original mixed media collage by noteworthy PNW artist Eunice Jensen Parsons (1916-2024) presented in a vintage cove frame with a distressed finish. Measuring 20.25” x 24” framed. Executed in 1965.
this is an early example of Eunice Parsons Collage work, and at this time her process involved creating collages using paper scraps she sourced from street posters and advertisements, adhered to sheet cardboard, often with some application of paint. This example features burlap and postal stamps and letters. We have chosen to leave this work unglazed to showcase the textural aspects of the piece.
The career of Eunice Parsons spanned decades, her most recognized work being modernist abstract collage. Parsons taught printmaking and composition at the Portland Art Museum School for over 20 years and is considered one of the most influential artists of 20th century Pacific Northwest art.
