Harold Mesibov was born in Philadelphia, Pa. He was the son of an artist and younger brother of the artist Hugh Mesibov. Both of the Mesibov brothers studied at the Graphic Sketch Club in Philadelphia. They both also were personally connected with Albert Barnes and both studied painting at the Barnes Foundation.
