Oil on Paper Cow Painting, Oregon WPA Artist Arthur Runquist (1891-1971) Vintage Oak Cove Frame

Arthur Runquist (1891-1971) was an Oregon artist celebrated for his regional landscapes and figures of the Oregon coast. Trained at the University of Oregon, the Art Students League in New York, and the Museum Art School in Portland, he exhibited at the 1939 New York World's Fair and Golden Gate Exposition. Along with his brother Albert, Runquist is best known for his WPA-era murals Development of the Arts and Development of the Sciences in the University of Oregon's Knight Library.

This is an original oil on paper painting be Runquist, presented behind glass in a circa 1950s solid oak cove frame. Frame shows age related patina, measures 20” x 23.5” over all.
